CSSI is pleased to offer renewable energy credits for sale.  These credits represent 150kWH of the anticipated annual output of the student solar array and are thus limited in supply.  More information.

 



Student Solar Installation Week!

November 19-21, 2008

Student-lead project to install a 72-module photovoltaic array on the roof of Watson Laboratories

 

The CSSI Fall 2008 Project is funded by the Moore-Hufstedler Fund for Student LifeCaltech Facilities, and the GSC.  All members of the Caltech community are welcome to attend.

 

The Caltech Student Solar Initiative has the following goals:

  • To foster a culture of sustainability at Caltech through student, staff, and faculty participation in sustainability-oriented projects.
  • To provide valuable experience for students, staff and faculty seeking to contribute to the worldwide demand for cleaner, cheaper, globaly accesible energy.  And more generally to begin to understand the challenges associated with solving national and global problems.
  • To add to the 1.2 MW of solar power that will be installed at Caltech over the next one and a half years
